Historical
Squadron 3S-6 is created,
August 30, 1939, with elements of the training section and easements
of Saint-Mandrier. Under the command of Lieutenant DUPONT, she joined
the Aspretto base in Corsica, where she absorbed the section of
easements present on site. The Squadron will use this base throughout
the Campaign of France.
At the end of the year 1939,
Lieutants DUPONT and LAUNAY of the 3S3 exchange their commands.
But if the boss of 3S-6 leaves immediately, the new commander does
not arrive until February 1940, and the provisional command is held
by the Sub-Lieutenant THIBAUX then SARDA.
The Campaign of France unfolds
without issue, the Squadron ensuring missions of Surveillances over
the Mediterranean, and the Armisitice will put an end to its activity.
The squadron was then equipped with Latécoere 298, and three
of them, will be sent, despite the ban on flight, in Algeria
