RAGUENET De SAINT ALBIN Gaston Marie
Commander
Gaston RAGUENET DE SAINT-ALBIN entered the École spéciale militaire de St Cyr in 1930 and was then posted to the 3rd foreign regiment in Morocco. He joined the air force in 1927 with the 3rd aviation regiment as an observer. He was posted to the maritime aviation fighter group in 1935, before joining the Romilly school in 1939, then the fighter inspectorate in February 1940. In May 1940, he became commander of the GC I/4, then commander of fighter group 25 in Rabat and finally commander of the Meknès base in 1943. In 1945, he was appointed commander of the DAT. Raoul REBIERE enlisted in 1929 and qualified as a pilot. He was posted to Dijon in 1931 and to Tunisia in 1939. He took part in the French campaign, first with the GC I/7 and then with the GC II/9. In April 1943, he managed to escape from France via Spain. He was taken prisoner, then transferred to AFN and joined the FAFL. Assigned to the GC I/7 ‘Provence’ group, he took part in the Corsican landings.
In 1945, he was posted to the Meknès training centre, then successively appointed commander of the GAEL at Villacoublay in 1946, commander of defence zone 901 in 1949, then commander of the Ivato base in Madagascar in 1952. He joined the CESA (Centre d'études stratégiques aérospatiales) in 1956 and was posted as military attaché in Addis Ababa and Djibouti to the Somali Coast Air Command in 1957. Raoul REBIERE was placed on aircrew leave in 1960.

RISACHER Louis - Georges

Louis RISACHER was drafted into the 46th Infantry Regiment in 1914. Wounded in 1915, he was evacuated to the Val de Grâce hospital. He joined the air force in 1916 and was trained at the Châteauroux, Avord, Cazaux and Pau schools in 1917. He was posted to the SPA 3 squadron (Dunkirk) in April 1918.
Placed on leave in 1919, he served periods in the reserve from 1927 to 1938.
He was recalled to active service in August 1939 and posted to the GC I/2 fighter group before taking command of GC II/561 (GC III/10). Louis RISACHER was demobilised in August 1940 and transferred to the reserves.

ROQUES Jacques - Rafael

Jacques ROQUES, an aviation enthusiast, qualified as a pilot in September 1915. A Swiss national, he joined the French Air Force at the age of 18 via the Légion Etrangère. He fought with the 48th Fighter Squadron from January 1917 and was credited with 5 sure and 3 probable victories. Jacques ROQUES, whose father was Swiss and whose mother was Venezuelan, became a naturalised French citizen in 1919.
On mobilisation, he rejoined his former SPA 48 squadron at GC I/1 but took part in only one combat and did not fly much: Jacques ROQUES was 42 years old at the time...: As Deputy Group Leader of GC I/1, he briefly took command of the Group in April 1940. He was demobilised on 30 July 1940 and joined the French Forces of the Interior.
After the war, he took over the running of his father's pharmaceutical company.

ROSSIGNEUX Jean - Paul

Left GC I/1 on 21 September 1940 to join the "Jeunesse et Montagne" movement.
He was killed in May 1942 in Madagascar: the British had sent a force to seize the port of Diego Suarez. Jean ROSSIGNEUX, a pilot with Escadrille 555 flying Potez 63-11s, was shot down by British Grumman MARTLETs.

René Rubin made his first flights in Lyon and joined the Morane school in Nîmes in 1935. He was posted to the Reconnaissance and joined the IV/55 in Lyon. He volunteered for fighter training and was posted to the 5th Wing at Reims. He was admitted to the Air Force training school in 1939, then posted to the GC II/4 in March 1940, with which he took part in the French campaign. Withdrawn to AFN in 1940, he was posted to the GC II/5 in Casablanca. He was appointed to the Meknès school in 1944, then to the CESA (Centre Etudes Supérieures Aériennes) in 1948. In 1950, he was sent to Tananarive to join the senior command of the armed forces in Madagascar. On his return, he was posted to Reims, then in 1955 to Algeria as commander of the 5th RA. In 1956, he was posted to the air defence command in Versailles, then in 1957 to the 2nd RA command, and finally in 1960 to the light support aviation training squadron. René Rubin was placed on aircrew leave in 1962 with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.

Yves RUPIED joined the first class at Salon-de-Provence and chose hunting. He took flying lessons at Avord and aerobatics at Romilly, before joining the CIC at Chartres. He joined the École de l'Air in 1937, and was posted to the GC III/7 in March 1940. He was wounded in air combat on 31 March 1940 and by accident on 15 June 1940. He left with his group for Morocco, then Dakar. Returning to France in 1944, he was stationed in Germany in 1945. He was appointed commander of the GC I/3, and posted to Morocco in 1946, then to Indochina in 1947, and finally to Tunisia in 1949. He took command of the 4th Fighter Wing in 1953. He was posted to the Interim Committee of the European Defence Community and to the Armed Forces Staff in 1954, and again to the Joint Staff of the Southern European Command in Naples in 1955. He was sent on a French military mission to Potsdam and then to the USSR in 1957, and became head of the 2nd office of the Air Force General Staff in 1959. He was Air Attaché in Ottawa in 1961, then joined the Combined Air Operations School in Baden-Oos in 1964. He was appointed Air military expert to the Senate in 1965. Yves RUPIED was put on leave from the Air Force in 1967.
