Patrol of BORDEAUX
No known emblem

Historical

The Patrouille de Bordeaux is constituted on May 10th, 1940. It is not attached to any Groupement and is thus independent .. The Equipment, Bloch MB152, are taken on the spot and the personnel is French. The first 3 bloch arrive on May 20th: they are new and armed aircrafts. The Patron Patrol is the Commander RABATEL, former fighter of the 1st War, assisted by Captain Masson, former instructor of the School of Salon. As for the pilots, they are taken among the best students of the last Promotion of the Air School: 1938. They will soon be joined by pilots in training at the School of Air Cazaux: these, faced with the situation of the French Army, no longer support inactivity, and without orders, decide to join spontaneously the closest fighting unit: the Patrouille de Bordeaux.

On June 17 and 18, the men and equipment of the Etampes and Tours Patrols, retreat to Bordeaux. With this strengthened staff, GC I / 55 will be created (see GC I / 55)
