Patrol of ORLEANS-BRICY

Historical

Defense Patrols are trained to defend aircraft manufacturing plants or protect strategic sites. The Orleans-Bricy Defense Patrol is part of the Patrol Group n° 1: Chartres / Chateaudun / Etampes / Orléans.

This patrol is set up on the basis of Orleans-Bricy before the official requests of May 10, 1940 in order to protect the CEAM (Center of Military Air Experimentation).

Captain RIVALS-MAZERE, commander of the Patrol, has only one pilot: they make up the strength of the Patrol ... The material does not pose any problem, since drawn directly to the CEAM! It seems, however, that a Bloch 152 is assigned to the Patrol permanently.

Despite the lack of resources, the Patrol wins a victory. Patrol follows the CEAM in its withdrawal to Toulouse in June 1940: it is then composed of two Dewoitine D520. When Captain RIVALS-MAZERES, he leaves the Patrol to conduct Armored Column attacks in GC I / 6: Group from which he will take Command after the Armistice.
