Historical

The Patrol of La Rochelle is set up on May 31 to protect the Air Force schools in La Rochelle. Based in the airfield of La Jarre, it is made up of Polish pilots and is equipped with Bloch MB151.

The pilots arrives June 6 from Lyon, but no aircrafts is available. Captain KOWALCZYK, Commander the patrol, success in finding Bloch MB 151 or MB 152, disarmed and worn probably from the pilot schools of La Rochelle or the School of Mechanics of Rochefort .. The Polish mechanics will succeed in arming them quickly, but their condition is problematic, leading to accidents, including a fire in flight that almost killed Captain KOWALCZYK.

The Patrol will only see the Germans four times, without being able to contact, and on June 19, the pilots spontaneously join Bordeaux where they will integrate the GC I / 145
