                  but was arrested and interned until June 1943. He joined the 
                  FAFL and was posted to the GB I/20 Lorraine as an 
                  observer in February 1944. 
                  After the war, he qualified as a pilot in April 1946 and joined 
                  the GT I/62 Béarn transport group in August 
                  1948. 
                  He was posted to Indochina, where he was killed in March 1949: 
                  a victim of poor visibility, his Junker 52 (Toucan) crashed 
                  to the ground with 21 parachutists on board. There were no survivors.

                  pitch to high pitch too quickly, thus choking his engines : 
                  the aircraft crashes to the ground. 
                  The unreliable Breguet 691 No57 was in the process of being 
                  reformed. Sergeant BELOGROTE asked to make a last test, and 
                  asked that the machine gunner be replaced by sandbags. Sergeant 
                  BELOGROTE was the only victim of the accident. 
                  At the time of his burial, his comrades flew over the Church 
                  and the cemetery for a last homage...

                  a building and crashed. All 10 crew members and three civilians 
                  were killed. |

                    BROHON graduated from the Ecole de Saint-Cyr in 1932.  
                    He joined the GB I/38 and took command of a squadron before 
                    becoming Group Commander in 1940.  
                    From 1940 to 1942, he was assigned to the 2nd Air Staff Office. 
                    Appointed Commander, he managed to reach Great Britain, and 
                    fought as a pilot with RAF Squadron 346. After the war, as 
                    a Lieutenant-Colonel, he was appointed head of the 3rd Air 
                    Force Bureau from 1946 to 1947. He later became a member of 
                    the French Delegation to NATO (Washington). He held various 
                    staff positions, including Commandant of the Reims Air Base 
                    in 1955. With the rank of General, he joined the Headquarters 
                    of the Supreme Allied Command Europe in 1956. He then took 
                    command of the French Air Force in the Middle East, and at 
                    his own request, ended his career in 1961 with the rank of 
                    Air Corps General. Returning to civilian life, he did not 
                    remain inactive, successively taking over the management of 
                    several aeronautical companies (SFERMA, SECA, SOGERMA, Sud 
                    Aviation, SNIAS, etc.).

                  He was a student pilot at the Istres school in 1936 and was 
                  posted to the 34th Bombardment Wing at Le Bourget. In September 
                  1940, he joined the GB I/38. Placed on Armistice leave in 1943, 
                  he was recalled in 1944 to the Kasba Tadla flying school (Morocco). 
                  He was sent to Indochina with the II/64 Anjou group 
                  in 1947. On his return, he was posted to the GMMTA (Groupement 
                  des Moyens Militaires de Transport Aérien) in 1951, to 
                  the CIET (centre d'instruction des équipages de transport) 
                  in Toulouse in 1953, to the Anjou group in Blida in 1957 and 
                  then back to the GMMTA in 1959.  
                  Rolland BROSSET retired in 1962 with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. |

                  He volunteered in 1914 and was posted to the 23rd Colonial Infantry 
                  Regiment. Wounded, he was transferred to the Observation Aviation 
                  at SALM 51. After the Armistice, he entered the Istres flying 
                  school and was certified on 15 May 1919. He spent three periods 
                  in Indochina between the two wars. On his return to Metropolitan 
                  France, he was posted to the 11th and then the 22nd Air Wing 
                  before being promoted to Commander of the GB I/12. He joined 
                  the Alliance network from 1942 to 1944.  |
