In September 1939, Bronislaw SKIBINSKI, a Polish pilot, fought with the 122nd Polish Fighter Squadron.
He returned to France after the Polish surrender. Initially assigned to GC I/145, he joined GC I/1 on 14 June 1940.

After the Polish defeat, he returned to France and fought first with GC I/145 and then, on 14 June 1940, with GC I/1. On 18 June 1940, he left this group with the seven other Polish pilots for England. He fought with 307 Sqn and was killed by accident in January 1944: during a training flight, the starboard engine of the Bristol Beaufighter in which Lucjan SZEMPLINSKI was flying failed. The plane crashed as it approached the base.
