Torpedo Squadrons T-3

Historical

The T-3 Squadron was born on September 15, 1939, under the command of Lieutenant MARRAUD. On December 20, the new squadron was declared operational, and joined the Cherbourg base. Then start Patrol and convoy escort missions. Like squadrons T1 and T2, Escadrille T3 is attached to the 5th Torpedo Flotilla: the F5T whose base is at Boulogne. Each of the squadrons detach Boulogne Sections to execute missions from Boulogne. This "routine" will end after the German offensive of May 10, 1940.

The missions that follow will be much more dangerous! The T-3 thus performs several German or Pont armor attack missions, during which the Flak will be particularly effective.

After the declaration of war of Italy, the Squadron is transferred to Berre l'Etang. There will be few missions against Italy, and the Armistice will surprise the squadron still based on the Etang de Berre.

. The squadron will finally be dissolved in November 1942
