                  was posted to the École de l'Air in 1936 and then to 
                  the GR II/36 in 1938, with which he took part in the French 
                  Campaign.  
                  After the Armistice, he was posted to the GR I/36 at Setif in 
                  1941 before being put on Armistice leave in 1943.  
                  He took up flying again in 1946 at the Tours school, then at 
                  Avord, before being posted to group II/61 Maine 
                  in 1948. In 1949, he attended the Air Force's advanced technical 
                  studies course and joined the EMGFA's legislation office in 
                  1950. He was sent to Indochina with the Franche-Comté 
                  II/62 group from November 1953 to February 1955. He joined the 
                  ESGA (Ecole Supérieure de Guerre Aérienne) in 
                  1956. He was appointed chief of staff at the joint special weapons 
                  command in 1960 and carried out several missions in Reggane 
                  (Algeria). He was assigned to the military cabinet of the Minister 
                  for the Armed Forces in 1964, was appointed assistant to the 
                  General Commanding the Tactical Air Force and the 1st Air Region 
                  and was finally placed at the disposal of the Chief of Staff 
                  of the French Air Force for space and missile issues. Christian 
                  DARDE was placed on aircrew leave in 1969 with the rank of Air 
                  Division General. |

                  was a student at the Istres flying school, before being posted 
                  in 1938 to the 35th squadron in Lyon as a sergeant pilot. He 
                  took part in the French campaign with the GRII/14 reconnaissance 
                  group in 1940. He managed to escape from France via Spain in 
                  February 1943 and was interned in Miranda prison. 
                  He returned to North Africa and was assigned to the Bretagne 
                  bombing group. He moved with the group to Corsica, Lyon, Saint-Dizier 
                  and then to Germany in 1944.  
                  He was assigned to the GT I/63 transport group at Thiès 
                  in Morocco in 1948, then to the Casablanca industrial workshop 
                  in 1951. He was sent to Indochina in October 1953 with the Franche-Comté 
                  transport group until August 1954. He was posted to the Boufarik 
                  air base in Algeria in 1955, then to Laghouat in 1959. He joined 
                  the Caen training base in 1960. Jacques DELACOUR was placed 
                  on aircrew leave in 1964. |

                Charles DE-LOUSTAL 
                  entered the Saint-Cyr school in 1931, then joined the Cavalry 
                  School in 1933. He was posted to the 4th hussar regiment and 
                  sent to Morocco with the 2nd mixed Moroccan goum and then the 
                  11th mixed goum. He joined the air force in 1938 as an observer. 
                  He completed an observer training course at Avord and was posted 
                  to GAO 589. He was posted to the Rabat base as an observer instructor 
                  in 1940, then to France.  
                  He managed to escape to Spain and was interned in August 1943. 
                  He returned to AFN and was posted to the Marrakech school in 
                  1944, then to the Salon school in 1946. He was posted to the 
                  2nd office of the Air Force General Staff in 1948, then appointed 
                  second-in-command of the 61st Transport Wing. He was posted 
                  to the Air Command in Morocco in 1951; then to Indochina to 
                  the GATAC North Staff in 1953. Back in Morocco, he was posted 
                  to the office of the Resident General in 1954, before becoming 
                  a trainee at the ESGA (Ecole Supérieure de Guerre Aérienne) 
                  in 1955. He was posted to the NATO Defence College in 1956 and 
                  then became the Air Force Military Attaché in London. 
                  He was appointed Commander of the 4th RA in 1961, then transferred 
                  to the Air Defence Staff in 1964.

                  was posted to the GB I/31 from 1934 to 1939 as a machine gunner, 
                  and joined the GAO 509 on 15 September 1939.  
                  Withdrawn to North Africa with GAO 509, he later joined Groupe 
                  2/23, which flew Léo 451s. After the Allied landings 
                  in North Africa in November 1942, Group 2/23 became 346 Squadron 
                  'Guyenne' of the RAF. This unit carried out bombing raids over 
                  occupied Europe from bases in England. The Group flew the Halifax 
                  MK V heavy bomber. Marcel DEMESMAY was appointed Bombardier. 
                  He will be cited four times for his action within the Group. 
                  Marcel DEMESMAY survived his tour of operations, 30 missions, 
                  at the end of which he stayed in England to train new recruits. 
                  Once peace had returned, he was in charge of air traffic control 
                  at the Tours base until 1962, when, after a final assignment 
                  in Germany, he retired to Tours. |

                  was pursued by 8 German fighters and had to make a makeshift 
                  landing in the countryside. Guy DESBORDES, Pilot, managed to 
                  extricate himself from the aircraft, but the Gunner and the 
                  Observer were killed during the fight. 
                  Guy DESBORDES was evacuated to Beauvais Hospital, then transferred 
                  to Saint-Germain en Laye for a 10-day convalescence. 
                  He then managed to reach his parents' home in the Loir et Cher 
                  region, and on 13 September 1940 crossed the demarcation line 
                  to join his group in Pau.

                    fighting of the 1st World War. He eventually joined the French 
                    Air Force and passed his pilot's licence in 1922. He took 
                    part in a record attempt with Coste: Paris - Aswan 3400 kms... 
                    On mobilisation, he commanded a Bombardment Group in Marrakech, 
                    before taking command of GR I/52.  
                    After the Armistice, he joined the French Interior Forces 
                    and became part of the "Alliance" organisation. 
                    Arrested by the Germans, he was imprisoned in Lyon, but managed 
                    to escape to London and then to General Giraud in Algiers. 
                    After the war, he was in charge of Air Maroc, then the 3 Région 
                    Aérienne in Bordeaux, the Ecoles de l'Armée 
                    de l'Air in Paris, and finally the 5eme Région Aérienne 
                    in Algiers. 
                    He then spent 24 years as mayor of Vitrolles. 
                  On March 16, 1940, the 
                    Potez 637 is hit by the flak during a low-altitude mission. 
                    The Pilot being wounded, it is the Lieutenant-Colonel DE-VITROLLES 
                    who thanks to the double-orders, succeeds to return and to 
                    land without encumbrance on his ground.
