ARSENAL VG 33
Arsenal VG 33
01
Between its tests in Villacoublay and its consideration by the Air Force on June 1, 1940, Prototype No. 01 will receive a new segmented camouflage engine hood, an OLAER train with hatches and a pitot tube as standard. It is also the only one to have a khaki propeller cone. Recovered by the Etampes Patrol, it will be folded on Bordeaux and will then serve within GC I/55. It is on this ground that he will be captured by the Germans. This aircraft is recognizable by its pot of propeller painted in Khaki. It is also coded "4" White on the drift.

1
Taken into account on June 6th. Folded around June 15th by the Etampes Patrol on the Clermont-Ferrand field. he remained there until the Armistice, assigned to the EAA 301 while waiting for repairs.
Arsenal VG 33
2
Taken into account on June 9th. According to the historian Jean Cuny, this aircraft was folded on Blagnac by the pilots of the Etampes patrol.
Arsenal VG 33
4
Taken into account on June 9th. Like No. 2, this aircraft was evacuated on Blagnac by pilots from Etampes patrol

5
The n ° 5 was conveyed from Etampes to Clermont Ferrand on June 15th, but there is no place in the Armistice ... The Germans will actually capture it when they enter Clermont on June 21st. It is likely that the No. 5 is the only VG33 captured by Germans in flight state, so it will be evaluated at the test center Rechlin with code 3 + 5
Arsenal VG 33
6
Taken into account on June 6th. The n°6 was probably evacuated with the n°1 and 5, since it is in Clermont at the Armistice. This copy is in fact destined to serve as reproduction model for the Michelin workshops which had to reproduce the apparatus under License. He will always be in Clermont end 40 at EAA 301, boned by Michelin mechanics. He wears a white number "6" on the drift.
Arsenal VG 33
7
This is probably the most photographed Arsenal and therefore the least mysterious. From Etampes, he is transferred on June 13 to Orleans, then to Bordeaux in GC I/55 at the hands of Lieutenant LESPINASSE. He will be repatriated to Francazal on June 25th where he is put in storage. It is one of the rare VG33 to have been complete
Arsenal VG 33
8
Not much information on the n°8 .IL may have been folded at the end of June and would have crossed the path of the GC II/9, if one believes the photographs taken by a mechanic of this unit in Bergerac or Ussel. He could be one of the two present in Bordeaux at the Armistice. In this case, the n°3 must have remained in Villacoublay
Arsenal VG 33
9
Folded by the Etampes Patrol on the Orléans field on June 13, 1940, then to Bordeaux where we find him at the Armistice
