BOURREL
Pierre - François |
Captain
|
Aerial
Observation Company CAO 266
|
Pierre BOURREL entered
the Bournazel class of the Saint-Cyr Military
School in 1932. On graduating, he decided to join the newly-formed
Air Force. He joined the 52nd demi-brigade d'Aérostation
in 1934. On mobilisation, he was Commander of CAO 266. This
was one of the priority units to be richly endowed with equipment.
CAO 266 was taken prisoner on 22 June in Alsace, but Pierre
BOURREL managed to escape. In November 1940, he was appointed
Head of the Balma Liquidation Unit No 155, then Head of the
Toulouse Administrative Section. In 1943, he was assigned
to the Air Force archives and joined the Resistance in 1944,
where, under the pseudonym Fleurance, he became
Head of the 3rd office. He returned to the Air Force and joined
the Ecole Supérieure de l'Intendance (ESI) in Paris.
He subsequently held several posts before becoming Head of
the CBA 752 department in Paris with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel
in April 1956.
In September 1964, Pierre BOURREL was appointed deputy to
the Central Director and promoted to Commissaire Général
de Brigade Aérienne. From 1966 to 1968, he attended
the Institut des Hautes Ecoles de la Défense Nationale
(IHEDN), and was then appointed Inspector of the Commissariat
de l'Air. He left the Air Force in 1971.

After completing his
studies, Achille VIADIEU became a notary's clerk before joining
the PMO-Midi company, which later became part of the new SNCF.

In 1939, he was drafted into a company of balloonists and
was demobilised on 22 June 1940, when the Armistice came.
Achille VIADIEU quickly joined the Resistance and became a
member of the Morhange group, which was responsible,

attacks against the occupying forces and infiltration of collaborationist
circles. Achille VIADIEU, code name X2, infiltrated
the PPF (Parti Populaire Français) and the RNP (Rassemblement

valuable intelligence. On 2 June 1944, while carrying out
