                  an instructor at the Polish Air Force Academy in 1939, did not 
                  take part in the fighting during the German invasion of Poland. 
                  When Poland surrendered, he managed to reach France via Romania 
                  and joined the French Air Force. Initially assigned to the Montpellier 
                  Training School, he joined the GC I/2 Group on 29 March 1940. 
                  Wounded in air combat on 11 June 1940. 
                  After the Armistice, from Saint-Jean de Luz, he took a boat 
                  for Liverpool. He fought with the RAF. Demobilised in December 
                  1946, he emigrated to the United States. He was killed in a 
                  car accident in Florida in October 1963. |

                   After completing his studies, 
                    Stanislaw Chalupa entered the Artillery Officers' School before 
                    joining the Air Force Pilot School in Deblin. He graduated 
                    in 1938. He fought in the Polish Campaign and won his first 
                    victory. After the Polish surrender, he went to France via 
                    Romania, and after a period of training, he was posted to 
                    the Group on 29 March 1940. Wounded in air combat on 17 May 
                    1940. 
                  After the Armistice of 
                    June 1940, from Saint-Jean de Luz, he took a boat to Liverpool 
                    in Great Britain, and took part in the Battle of Britain with 
                    Squadron 302. In 1942, he left the combat units and was assigned 
                    to operations before becoming an instructor. He was demobilised 
                    in December 1946 as a Captain. 
                  Returning to civilian 
                    life, he worked first in England and then in Canada. After 
                    his retirement, he returned to Poland in 1995, to Krakow. 
                    He died on 24 April 2004.
