In
this section are listed 393 Airfields used from Mobilization to
the Armistice by the 144 units of the French Air Force identified
in this site. For each of them, I counted the dates of use of the
units that passed through it. Of course, this list is far from exhaustive
and will probably never be, but it will be supplemented or modified
with the discovery of information.
These
Airfields are classified by region (see menu on the left of this
page), according to the current administrative division (2017).
however, you will find a list of the Airfields in alphabetical order
at the bottom of this page.
Airfields
are thus distributed by regions and maps will allow you to localize
on one hand the region and on the other hand the Airfields within
this region.
Gradually,
I would also add a more precise location, allowing to visualize
the setting-up with regard to the closest city and the outline of
Airfields. This part is particularly complex for several reasons:
- Number of grounds disappeared today, it is thus necessary to
look in archives to confirm the location. I also lean for it on
the very detailed site: "
Anciens Aérodromes "
-
Under two names of different Airfields, sometimes hides the same
Airfield... Indeed, if this one is situated between two close
cities, he can be alternately appointed with the name of the one
or other one of both cities following sources.
