On May 15, 1940, a patrol of the GC II / 1 strong of 6 BLOCH MB152, carries out a mission of protection of Bombers. The French formation meets an important group of MESSERSCHMITT BF109E. Staff-Sergeant MUNIER, touched, crashes into the Ardennes. The pilot is buried in the Croix Sainte Anne cemetery at Monthermé, along with GC II/1 Chief Warrant Officer Autier, also killed on the same day.
