Helmet AIRAILLE TYPE 11 :

The helmet type Airaille type 11 was manufactured from 1939. Its manufacture was divided between two companies: "Zinzsner" and "Guéneau & Cie". The recognition of the manufacturing site is done by the spelling of the name "Airaille": Two "L": it is a Zinzsner and only one "L" for a "Guéneau".
The shell of this helmet is made of cardboard or boiled leather covered with leather. Its covering is also made of leather. It has two lateral wings that contain the headphones, enclosed in flaps with pressures.
The shell, pierced with two ventilation holes, has two loop passers.
The helmet shown in the pictures are equipped with a laryngophone "Ericsson type 20" and also Ericsson headphones. The crew member had to connect these two apparatus to a "Bonanza" type 100 relay box that he carried on his chest. He connected the electric circuit of the heated clothes and the heating system and the arrival of oxygen in his inhaler mask on this same box.

Glasses presented here are "Cébé 400", which will also be manufactured by the companies "Alroptic" and "oTo".
This type of equipment was used, for example, by members of observation crews on Potez 63-11 or Bloch MB174.
This type of helmet has been produced in numerous pre-war copies, many of which will be used after the war by paratroopers.
